Concerts with the Austrian-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christopher Hogwood in Bern, Zurich and Geneva (Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Piano Concerto No. 1 G minor op.25)- press commentaries: "Der Pianist Matthias Kirschnereit (...) verlieh dem Kopfsatz viel motorischen Drive, wusste indes die darin eingebetteten Ruheinseln mit großer Akkuratesse zu gestalten und nutzte das anschließende Andante zu einem betörenden Zwiegesang mit den Streichern."
